National Geographic's "Best News Photos of the Year," an annual feature on World Press Winners, is something I look forward to. Not that it's always pleasant, because it rarely is. But it's a valuable conglomeration of some weird, sad, and all-too-rare wonderful things that happened in 2010. I've posted a few below.
